Failure & Giving Up

My Quote of the week:

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Such True Words.

I’m not 100% sure, but when I look at the journey I’ve taken so far in my life especially regarding my photography career, I can see that I was almost, a few times, almost on the edge of success when I decided to ‘give up’.

Looking back I can see that if I only hold off a few more months before giving up, then maybe it would have been a success.

Maybe it wouldn’t have been a success, but I so know myself by now and in the past I gave up too quickly with lots of endeavors that I took; personal and professional.

I still give up sometimes, but I realised something:

If I can get myself to push past the ‘I think it’s time to give up” feeling, just give it a chance for a week or two, maybe a month, then my mindset changes.

Whatever I’m busy with might not be a success yet, but I’m still on the road, and who knows, maybe this road I’m on will lead to success. If not, then at least I gave it my all and didn’t give up too quickly; and that is the goal: to not give up too soon!

Giving up too soon is the easy road to take, but what am I here for then? To take the easy roads??? F*** NO, I’m tired of the easy roads, the only thing I get from the easy roads are regrets. Lots and Lots of REGRETS!

Have you ever given up on something that you 1) regret and 2) something that could have been a success if you just gave it a chance?

  1. Yes I agree, I think many of us give up too soon. We feel disheartened, discouraged, tired, foolish etc, etc… I have too. I think sometimes I don’t see the value I bring to a thing, or I don’t see my worth. I think it is quite a common trait of creative and artistic people. I wish you all the persistence and self – belief to make your dreams come true 🔥

    1. Thank you for your kind words.. I’m sure most people do not see their worth, especially creative people when the world says your work isn’t worth anything, people and the world can be a cruel place at times. Guess we should just be kinder to ourselves in the end. In the end we are what matters most, and not the opinions of the world.
