Why Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper
Why I chose to print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper.
Years ago when I started with photography, my friend sold his photographs at markets and had his work printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper. I just fell in love with the paper when I saw it for the first time. I loved the heavy weight of the paper, the texture and the fact that it was expensive; read: very high quality paper. I desperately wanted to have my photographs printed on that paper who’s name I still can’t pronounce, but I couldn’t afford it at that time and told myself that one day I will be able to afford to print on that paper!
My different photographic journeys followed and I found a printing company to do my printing. They didn’t offer Hahnemühle paper, but had a textured paper called Fine Art paper. It wasn’t as nice as the REAL thing, but it was okay! I settled and had all my photographs printed on that paper, until I made my return to fine art last year.
Printing on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper
I found a new printing company last year that prints on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper. The real deal!
Recently I had my very first photograph printed. I went to collect my print, and it was covered in the soft tissue paper, with hand gloves on my awesome printing rep opened the print to reveal the most amazing thing I’ve seen all year, and I AM IN LOVE!
This paper is nothing like I remembered from our first encounter. It’s da bomb! It really is. A close-up photo of the paper won’t do it justice, you really do have to see and feel this paper in real life!
